So apparently Death From Above 1979 and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs had a baby. And it's kind of a noisy one.
Spoils are a two piece, drum and bass band from Regina, Saskatchewan. Formed in the summer of 2012, band members weren't entirely certain whether things would remain a two-some. However, as things progressed, it became apparent to Riva Racette (formerly of Sylvie) and Dustin Gamracy that this little two-piece sounds a lot like a three, or even four piece band.
Since playing their first shows, Spoils have experienced that immediate type of draw that few new bands get to experience. The swift and positive response has been a welcome surprise. Dustin and Riva have been active members of the indie rock scene for well over a decade. Collectively, these two have played and toured with such notables as Minus the Bear, DFA 1979, Fucked Up, Wintersleep, Ghosts of Modern Man, METZ, and Young Widows. This summer saw Spoils head out west with post-punk band Despistado for their reunion tour.
