Ten Aboriginal acts to catch at JUNOfest

March 27, 2014

Inez Jasper

Inez Jasper, A Tribe Called Red, Winnipeg Boyz, Leonard Sumner, George Leach, Cassidy Mann, marijosée, Desiree Dorion, Amanda Rheaume, and Federal Lights will be performing at JUNOfest in Winnipeg this weekend. The Aboriginal artist showcases are set for Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 at the Folk Exchange, The Park Theatre, The Exchange Event Centre, Whiskey Dix, and Le Garage Café.

APTN and NCI FM are the presenting sponsors for the Aboriginal Showcase on Saturday night. The event features JUNO Award nominees A Tribe Called Red, Jasper, Rheaume, Leach, and local fan favourite Sumner.

Tickets for each concert are $15, but the best way to avoid lineups and gain access to the venues is to purchase a JUNOfest wristband in advance and make your way to the concert before 11pm. A number of venues are expected to reach capacity early in the evening (especially the Aboriginal Showcase).

JUNOfest wristbands can be purchased in advance for $30 at Music Trader, Into the Music, the Winnipeg Folk Festival's store, Urban Bakery, and Ticketmaster.
