sākihiwē summer concert at Anishinabe Days 2023

We're working with Treaty One to produce the mainstage concert and talent contest for the annual Anishinabe Days festival at the Naawi-Oodena site in Winnipeg. The festival runs July 29 and 30 and the concert is set for Saturday night.

The Joe Maxim Band will be backing up contestants for the Anishinabe Idol singing contest and the concert will include performances by Brandi Vezina, YK The Mayor, Frank Beaulieu, Tayller McKinney, and Aaron Peters.

The Anishinabe Idol contestants include Craig Beaulieu, Ayanna Beardy, Dean Henry, Alyssa Nepinak, Winston Desjarlais, Nina Henry, Bailey Beaulieu, Treyson Sinclair, and Yandira Campos and $2,750 in prize money is up for grabs.

The Winnipeg Jets are also joining us at Anishinabe Days and parents/caregivers are encouraged to register their young people for the ball hockey games on Saturday and Sunday (participants who sign up will be entered for a chance to win tickets to a Jets game).

Anishinabe Days will also include a traditional pow wow, Indigenous marketplace, food trucks, and activities for kids. Visit treaty1.ca for full details.

Aboriginal Music Manitoba (AMM) acknowledges the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Manitoba Arts Council, and the Winnipeg Arts Council for their financial support of the sākihiwē festival's outreach programming.
