We're working with the Indigenous Music Office, Manitoba Music, the Indigenous Music Development Program, and the Embassy of Canada to Mexico to host a free webinar about the Indigenous music scene in Mexico with rapper Mare Advertencia and singer/poet Zara Monrroy on December 4, 2024.

The webinar will be free, it will be hosted on Zoom, and registration is required.

Indigenous people working in the music industry are encouraged to register. Music managers working with Indigenous artists are also welcome to join us.

About Mare Advertencia
Rapper, Zapotec, and feminist, Mare Advertencia is one of the most important Rap references in Mexico. You can hear her voice everywhere from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack to the School for Freedom of Women in Oaxaca.

About Zara Monrroy
Zara Monrroy, is am Indigenous activist, singer, poet, composer, environmentalist, fisherwoman, and dancer. She is a cultural ambassador for her home community of Socaaix, Sonora.

The webinar will be hosted on Zoom, so a high speed Internet connection and a Zoom account are required.
