Murray Porter wins Aboriginal Album of the Year at the JUNO Awards
Mohawk bluesman Murray Porter won the Aboriginal Album of the Year at the 2012 JUNO Awards. His cd is entitled Songs Lived and Life Played.
Bruthers of Different Muthers, Donny Parenteau, Randy Wood, and Flying Down Thunder & Rise Ashen were also in the running for Aboriginal Album of the Year.
Porter was presented with the JUNO at a ceremony in downtown Ottawa on Saturday, March 31. The Aboriginal Peoples Television Network is the Aboriginal category sponsor and the broadcaster's COO, Sky Bridges, made the announcement alongside pop singer Inez Jasper.
