A Tribe Called Red heading to Greece for WOMEX this year
A Tribe Called Red has been selected to showcase at the prestigious WOMEX DJ Summit in Thessaloniki, Greece this year. This is a big deal because they'll be one of two Canadian acts participating in WOMEX's official showcase program.
The group's performance is set for Saturday, October 20 with Gypsy Box (Mexico/Spain) and Hugo Mendez & Frankie Francis (Sofrito) (UK/France) holding down the other spots on the bill.
The WOMEX DJ Summit will also include a panel discussion entitled "World Music, Global Bass, and the Future of Hybrid Music" and a meeting called "Global Bass Networking Session: Making Space for the Bass at WOMEX."
Visit womex.com for more information about the conference and showcases.
AND don't forget that A Tribe Called Red will be performing at Aboriginal Music Week 2012 on Friday, November 2. Zuzuka Poderosa & Kush Arora are also confirmed for the show.
