Darla Daniels
Dubbed "The Princess of the Métis Fiddle" by Calvin Vollrath, Darla Daniels is a dynamic Métis fiddler, singer-songwriter, actor, and emerging composer from Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement. For over 20 years, she has shared her passion for Traditional Métis Fiddle while developing a bold, modern sound of her own. Known for her powerful stage presence and evocative songwriting, Darla blends storytelling and roots music with fresh energy. Her debut single Many Miles has been gaining strong traction on streaming platforms and XM Radio. Her debut vocal EP, 1992, is set to release in 2025.
Darla has performed at major festivals including the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, Newport Celtic Rock Festival, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and the International Indigenous Music Summit. She has opened for artists like Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Brandi Carlisle, and Ashley MacIsaac. Her accolades include being a finalist for Country Music Alberta's Specialty Instrument Player of the Year and receiving the MSGC Arts & Culture Award. Her work has also been featured on APTN, Telus, CBC, and CFWE.
