Winnipeg lineup announced for Aboriginal Day Live

A Tribe Called Red

A Tribe Called Red, Kathia Rock, George Leach, Crystal Shawanda, Tanya Tagaq, War Party, hoop dancer Dallas Arcand, and square dancers Sagkeeng's Finest will be the entertainment for APTN's Aboriginal Day Live & Celebration in Winnipeg on Saturday, June 22, 2013. The lineup was announced at a press conference in Winnipeg on May 23.

Rock god Derek Miller and actress Michelle Thrush are the main stage hosts for the live and television audiences.

Aboriginal Music Week will be onsite to hand out free CDs and offer free family portraits from our promo tent in the Celebration Village. The day will also include a competition pow wow, skateboarding competition, traditional culture pavilions, and fireworks.

2013 marks the seventh year for Aboriginal Day Live at the Forks in Winnipeg and close to 35,000 people are expected to attend.

The schedule of events:
11am-5pm: Celebration Village
12pm-5pm: Skate Park competition and demos
12pm-5pm: Competition Pow Wow
7:30pm-11:30pm: Free live concert
11:30pm: Fireworks

APTN will also be producing an Aboriginal Day Live concert in Iqualuit on June 22. This second stage features performances by Leela Gilday, Susan Aglukark, Sinuupa, Saali, Saina Singer, Nelson Tagoona, and Artcirq.
