sākihiwē Export Accelerator videos premiere
We're thrilled to share the 10 performance videos that our inaugural cohort put together for the sākihiwē Export Accelerator! Each performance video will be used to give music presenters in Germany, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Germany, and Canada a taste of what the artists have to offer their festivals and concert halls before connecting online for panel discussions and one-on-one meetings at the end of August.
“We released the videos in June to celebrate National Indigenous History Month and to give the artists a new marketing tool for the summer music festival season,” says Alan Greyeyes, our project lead and Festival Director. “I'm really happy with the look and sound of these videos and I'm excited about the next steps for this project.”
The project is supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and we're working with in-market consultants in each country to confirm a total of 40 music presenters who will watch the videos, share information about their performance opportunities and audiences during panel discussions on Zoom, and meet with the artists who make the most sense for their festival or concert series on SwapCard.
Manitoba Music is our main partner for this project and we're receiving additional support from the Embassy of Canada to Mexico, the Embassy of Canada to Germany, and the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom.
Each participant has premiered the performance videos on their own YouTube channel. Check them out below.
