2012 TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival starts today

The 2012 TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival kicks off its 10 day schedule tonight with the first of four free opening weekend concerts at the Old Market Square in downtown Winnipeg. The Theatre Series, Club Series, Jazz for Lunch, and jazz labs start on June 18 and they include a number of great artists.

The festival features jazz, roots and blues, hip hop, and soul music performed by the likes of Janelle Monae, Trombone Shorty, Ramsey Lewis, Booker T. Jones, along with Aboriginal artists A Tribe Called Red, Sierra Noble, Jodie Borle, and The Dusty Roads Band.

Aboriginal Music Week is proud to be the presenting sponsor for A Tribe Called Red at the Pyramid Cabaret on Tuesday, June 19. Tickets for this show are $18 in advance and $20 at the door.
