Nuit Blanche 2021 Performance Premieres

The sākihiwē festival is partnering with the Wall-to-Wall Mentorship Program (opens in new tab) , Graffiti Art Programming (opens in new tab) , and the Urban Shaman Gallery (opens in new tab) to deliver a series of video performances by Melody McKiver, Casey Koyczan, Laura Ortman, Solveig, Ethan Lyric, Tuva Bergstrom, and Annaxis for the 2021 Nuit Blanche celebrations in Winnipeg.

The video premieres will appear on the sākihiwē festival’s YouTube channel, the Wall-to-Wall Mural & Culture Festival’s Facebook page, and the Urban Shaman Gallery’s Vimeo on Friday, December 10, with all premieres beginning at 4:00 pm CST.

Performance Schedule

Each performance was filmed by BNB Studios at the Forks Market in Winnipeg, with audio recording by Matt Mayor and mixing by MJ Dandeneau.

Aboriginal Music Manitoba, producer of the sākihiwē festival, acknowledges the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Manitoba Arts Council, and the Winnipeg Arts Council for their financial support of the sākihiwē festival’s outreach programming.


About Geronimo Inutiq

Geronimo Inutiq is an artist in electronic music production, deejaying, performance, film, video, digital images, and multimedia installation. Born in what was Frobisher Bay, NWT (now Iqaluit, Nunavut), he has performed in prestigious venues and exhibited across the country in multiple multimedia installations.

About Andrina Turenne

Andrina Turenne is a Métis/Franco-Manitoban artist from St-Boniface, Manitoba. Her love of music ignited around the campfires where she learned to sing with family and friends. As a singer, songwriter, and musician, she has worked in the music industry for over 20 years.


About Kadanse

Kadanse brings together dancers, choreographers, and creators who value and embrace French‐Canadian and Métis music and jig, while presenting traditional repertoire from an innovative, creative, and contemporary perspective. The members of Kadanse are committed to being cultural ambassadors, providing audiences with the opportunity to discover and rediscover this vibrant tradition.


About Clint & Riley Dutiaume

When it comes to playing the fiddle, Clint Dutiaume is a master of his craft. A nine‐time winner of the Manitoba Instrumentalist of the Year Award, Clint is also proficient on guitar, bass, mandolin, and drums. His number‐one son, Riley, is now fully engaged in the music business and is busy writing and recording song demos for his debut CD. They currently tour as a duo and with their full band.


About sākihiwē music Thursdays

sākihiwē music Thursdays was launched on February 2, 2021, with financial help from the Safe at Home Manitoba program. The project brings recorded performances by Indigenous artists to Indigenous families both online and offline.

In its inaugural round, Inuit throat singer Nikki Komaksiutiksak, country singer Desiree Dorion, the legendary C‐Weed Band, mezzo‐soprano opera singer Rhonda Head, singer/songwriter Billy Simard, fiddle master Patti Kusturok, and hip hop artist Mattmac entertained audiences.
