- A Tribe Called Red debut set for March 27 release A Tribe Called Red are set to release a self-titled debut next month. The disc will feature their songs that sample the Northern Cree singers, the General Generations track they produced alongside UCLA's ethnomusicology department, and seven other new school pow wow dance records.

- Can't stop, won't stop - Hip Hop Night at AMW Winnipeg's Most take the reigns of Aboriginal Music Week on Wednesday, November 2 for Hip Hop Night presented by Digital Drum.ca. The 2010 APCMA runaways headline this all ages concert at the West End Cultural Centre, with Broadway Neighbourhood Centre's JR Just TV and Regina's The Local Onlyz kicking off the night at 730pm sharp.

Aboriginal Music Week starts with a bang on Tuesday, November 1 with "Take the Fort! presented by Grassroots News" at the West End Cultural Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Métis fiddle legends John Arcand and Darren Lavallee bring the music, while The Métis Club Traditional Dancers and fan favorites Slick & Lil' J bring the square dancing.

- Now Taking Submissions for the Canadian Aboriginal Music Directory Aboriginal Music Manitoba is producing a promotional directory with contact information and profiles for Aboriginal recording artists from across Canada. The directory will feature multiple genres (everything from pow wow to electronica) and all listings will be free (all material MUST be sent in one email message).
- Call for Submissions: All My Relations Stage at Aboriginal Music Week SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Wednesday, August 24, 2011 | Aboriginal Music Manitoba is partnering with Tracy Bone and JC Campbell to deliver the All My Relations Stage at Aboriginal Music Week this year. The stage will provide up to six Aboriginal or Native American artists with an opportunity to perform at the festival on November 3, 4, or 5.
