- Aboriginal legends, rising stars to join the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra June 23 Ray St. Germain, C-Weed, Eagle & Hawk, Sierra Noble, Don Amero, and Ali Fontaine will join the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO) for a full night of entertainment at the Event Centre in the Club Regent Casino on Tuesday, June 23.
- Métis fiddle, Aboriginal rock on the menu for lunch hour concerts Aboriginal Music Week is excited to be partnering with the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ on two free lunch hour concerts at Air Canada Park in Winnipeg. Métis fiddle legend Darren Lavallee will be joined by a square dancing group for the first concert on June 25 and Aboriginal rock band The Mosquitoz will entertain the lunch hour crowd on July 16.

- New partnership for Aboriginal Music Week, JUNO Award winner to headline Aboriginal Music Manitoba (AMM) is excited to be partnering with the Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre (Ma Mawi) on a free community celebration during Aboriginal Music Week 2014 (August 20 - 24). The event will be held at the Turtle Island Neighbourhood Centre in Winnipeg's north end on Thursday, August 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and JUNO Award winning blues rocker George Leach will be the concert headliner. A free BBQ and music workshops for youth are also planned for the celebration.

The announcement was made at a press conference on Thursday, May 8.
- Astronomar releases Mutant Club "Dopest Alaskan since Santa Claus or Grizzlyman!" - Diplo | Innovative and highly respected music producer, Astronomar, released a new EP today. The four track offering, entitled Mutant Club, is being worked by his Main Course label and has garnered pre-release support from the likes of Congorock (BBC's Diplo & Friends), Botnek, Torro Torro, Sinden and other like minded tastemakers.
- Sneak peak: Tanya Tagaq's new album Tanya Tagaq has a new album set to launch on May 27. The music was produced by Jesse Zubot (with additional production by Juan Hernandez) and the disc will be released by Six Shooter Records. The album is entitled Animism.
- Indigenous Music Without Borders, Volume 2 Aboriginal Music Week is proud to announce the release of Indigenous Music Without Borders, Volume 2. The mixtape, available on SoundCloud, features nine recordings by exceptional songwriters and poets from Canada, the US, and Australia. Aboriginal Music Week launched the Indigenous Music Without Borders mixtape series on March 7, 2014 to share some of the great music being made by Indigenous folks around the world, in almost every genre.
