- Call for Submissions: Aboriginal Music Week 2014 SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Wednesday, November 6, 2013 Aboriginal Music Manitoba will be producing the sixth annual Aboriginal Music Week in Winnipeg next summer (2014 - exact dates to be confirmed) and the organization is currently accepting applications from First Nation, Inuit, Métis, Native American, and Indigenous recording artists for performance spots.
- Last day to vote for the APCMA Today is the last day to vote for your favourite artist at the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards, so we thought that we should note the nominees that we have booked for our festival this year. Derek Miller, Desiree Dorion, George Leach, Ghostkeeper, and Nick Sherman racked up a combined total of 12 nominations for their most recent releases.
- New bands, fashion show added to Aboriginal Music Week 2013 Aboriginal Music Week is proud to announce that JUNO Award winning bluesman George Leach, Winnipeg-based rockers The Mosquitoz, and country chanteuse Desiree Dorion have been added to the festival this year. The new additions will join the 25 other acts at one of the 10 existing concerts set for August 16th to 21st in Winnipeg.
- The Aboriginal Music Week 2013 Festival Sampler is here Leonard Sumner, Wanbdi, Digging Roots, C-Weed Band, DJ Javier Estrada, Leela Gilday and eight other outstanding artists have provided music for the 2013 edition of the Aboriginal Music Week Festival Sampler. The CD, officially released on June 21, is being given away for free across the continent in an effort to build audiences for the artists ahead of their performances at the fifth annual event.

- Free music workshops for youth in Winnipeg this August Aboriginal Music Week is brining JUNO Award winning songwriter Leela Gilday and multiple award winning hip hop producer Stomp to Winnipeg for three days of youth workshops this summer and we're looking for hosts. The workshops will be completely free of charge for any community organizations that are interested in hosting sessions in their office or centre on August 19, 20, or 21.
- Winnipeg lineup announced for Aboriginal Day Live A Tribe Called Red, Kathia Rock, George Leach, Crystal Shawanda, Tanya Tagaq, War Party, hoop dancer Dallas Arcand, and square dancers Sagkeeng's Finest will be the entertainment for APTN's Aboriginal Day Live & Celebration in Winnipeg on Saturday, June 22, 2013. The lineup was announced at a press conference in Winnipeg on May 23.
- 2013 NAMMY winners announced Jana Mashonee, Fawn Wood, Ali Fontaine, and Francois Couture (Yahndawa’) took home trophies from the 14th Annual Native American Music Awards on Friday, May 10. The ceremony was held at the Seneca Niagara Hotel & Casino in New York and Edmund Bull, Big River Cree, and hoop dancer/flutist Tony Duncan were among the performers.
- The Stage 49 lineup - Gathering of Nations Quese IMC, The Black Owl Society, Native Roots, and 15 other bands and DJs are set to perform at Stage 49 during the Gathering of Nations in Albuquerque, New Mexico this weekend. The entertainment begins on Friday, April 26 and includes several dance demonstrations, comedy, and a fashion show curated by Beyond Buckskin's Jessica Metcalfe.
